William R. McKay, MD
William R. McKay, MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip, knee and shoulder surgery.
His extensive orthopedic expertise focuses on minimally invasive surgical techniques utilizing the latest scientific-based medicine and technical advances in surgery available. He specializes in the precision of robotic-assisted total hip and knee surgery that preserves surrounding healthy bone and tissue, as well as, arthroscopy (small incisions) of the knee and shoulder, which provide for shorter recovery times. Dr. McKay’s practice philosophy hinges osn patient-centered care, including non-operative measures prior to surgical intervention.

Dr. McKay joined Lighthouse Orthopedic Associates in 1990 after completing his orthopedic residency in Chicago at the University of Illinois. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University in 1985 and a bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Michigan in 1981.
The Arthritis Foundation honored him as Physician of the Year, and recipient of the William E. Burkhalter, Sr. Memorial Award for Excellence in Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery in 2003.
Dr. McKay acts as a consultant to several orthopedic research companies and has had the opportunity to lecture to his peer group, as well as, to the lay public in areas of his expertise.
Dr. McKay is affiliated with the Holy Cross Orthopedic Institute with practice locations in Boca Raton and Lighthouse Point. He performs surgery in state-of-the art suites at Holy Cross Orthopedic Institute, Holy Cross Hospital, West Boca Medical Center and the Boca Raton Surgery Center.
